Administrative Responsibilities

  • Planning, implementation and evaluation of the predoctoral curriculum.
  • Shared administrative responsibility for COM/CHM jointly administered introductory basic science courses.
  • Administrative liaison with wholly administered and shared departments to identify resources for our undergraduate curriculum.
  • Ad hoc member of the College Curriculum Committee and the Committee on Student Evaluation.
  • An ad hoc member of the Unit I/Block I Faculty Course Coordinators Committee and the Unit II Systems Biology Course Coordinators Committee.
  • Assists Dr. Lovell with administrative oversight of the preclerkship curriculum.
  • Assists Ms. Gilbert-Johnson with administrative oversight of the clerkship curriculum.
  • Assists Dr. Parkhurst and Academic Programs staff in the development and implementation of faculty, course and program evaluation.
  • Maintains dialogue and contact with the student body through conference hours in the preclerkship and periodic hospital visits as students complete clinical clerkship programs.
  • Service as a member of the Primary Care Ambulatory Clerkship Advisory Committee.
  • Represents the college as a member of the AODME and MAODME.
  • Recruits and appoints faculty course coordinators for college (OST) courses.
  • Works with Academic Programs support staff to assist faculty in course planning implementation, and evaluation.
  • Works with Academic Programs staff to assist with student, course and classroom scheduling.
  • Represents the college as a member of the Biomedical Space Committe.

Shared administrative responsibility for the MSUCOM Statewide Campus System (SCS)/Osteopathic Postdoctoral Training Institution (OPTI)

  • Ad hoc member of SCS Governing Board.
  • Ad hoc member of SCS Membership Committee.
  • Ad hoc member of SCS Educational Standards Committee.
  • Represents MSUCOM as a member of the Medical Education Committees of Genesys Regional Medical Center, Ingham Medical Center, and Metropolitan Health System Hospital.
  • Represents MSUCOM on the Program Advisory Committees responsible for planning, implementation, and evaluation of residency education consortia in the 18 affiliated SCS hospitals.

American Osteopathic Association

  • Member of the AOA Committee on College Accreditation
  • Regular member of AOA College Accreditation site visiting teams
